Beautiful Bells Vol. 2 presents the solo recordings of 135 unique stationary bells, captured in 39 locations across France—including bell towers, chapels, carillons, churches, cathedrals, and clock towers—with outstanding audio quality. Most recordings were made inside the bell towers themselves.

Stationary bells are struck by external hammers, producing a stable, resonant tone with long sustain. They are commonly used in carillons as musical instruments, for clock chimes marking the hour, or as warning signals such as tocsins.

This collection covers the full spectrum of bell sizes and pitches—from massive 8-ton bourdons to small carillon bells weighing just a few kilograms. It includes bells cast between the 14th and 21st centuries, offering a wide range of timbres and tunings across five octaves, from G2 to G7.

The library also features two full carillons (54 bells and 10 bells), available both as raw audio files and as playable virtual instruments for NI Kontakt and EXS24, complete with round robin variations.

All sounds were recorded inside or as close as possible to bell towers to ensure precise detail and an optimal signal-to-noise ratio.

Produced over six months and more than 12,000 kilometers of travel, this collection stands as one of the most comprehensive libraries of stationary bells, chimes, and carillons ever recorded.
