Ultrasonic Insects Volume 3 features dozens of insect recordings captured with the precision of a sonic microscope—the Sanken CO-100K. To create this collection, over 3,500 kilometers were traveled across remarkable French landscapes, including the Alps, the Pyrenees, and the Massif Central. Each insect was recorded in quiet conditions using close-miking techniques for exceptional detail and clarity.
An ultrasound detector was also used to locate extremely high-pitched bush-cricket songs, some of which may require slight pitch-shifting to become fully audible.
